Free to be Sure of Salvation

‘There are many paths to Heaven.’ This is what most religions believe. Anyone who does not know or been drawn into the kingdom of God, will answer, ‘yes’, to the question of whether or not they are going to heaven. If you ask, ‘how do you know?’, most will pause for awhile and say, ‘Because I’m a good person, I guess.’

His Only-begotten Son and the Word of God 1885...

Every religion believes they have the answer to eternal life or life in general. Every religion believes there are certain things one must do to be sure of salvation or a future in some type of heaven. There is only one religion that believes we cannot earn our own salvation no matter what we do.  God has provided us a way to receive eternal life through Jesus Christ and to become one with Him. That’s right.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Once we realize this truth without doubt, we crave to know more. Our joy overflows with our desire for him. A true believer won’t be planted on rocky ground or twisted in thorny bushes, or fall by the wayside where false versions of Christianity or worldly thinking can deceive and gobble up the truth from our lives. A true believer is humble before God, hungry for the Word, and hungry to know Christ completely.

We are sure of salvation when we are sure of our love for the Lord and our desire to know him, to be with him always, and to know his Word. The beginning of a true believer’s life is filled with a joyful excitement of what comes nest.

We no longer seek our own selfish ambitions. Everything we do revolves around His will. We are hungry, thirsty, and a transformation takes place as we move closer to Christ. We might not openly jump up and down, but inside we are expecting.

5 Biblical tips to be sure of salvation:

1. Do you have a desire for Christ? If not, ask God, the Father, to draw you to come to Christ and to know him in truth.

John 6:44 No one is able to come to Me unless the Father Who sent Me attracts and draws him and gives him the desire to come to Me, and [then] I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

2. Once you have received Christ, get to know the Word. Jesus and the Word are one.

2 Corinthians 3:18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

3. Listen to instructors of the Word who are honest and true to the Word. Be careful of those who twist the Word to satisfy their own agenda.

2 Corinthians 4:2 We have renounced disgraceful ways (secret thoughts, feelings, desires and underhandedness, the methods and arts that men hide through shame); we refuse to deal craftily (to practice trickery and cunning) or to adulterate or handle dishonestly the Word of God, but we state the truth openly (clearly and candidly). And so we commend ourselves in the sight and presence of God to every man’s conscience.

4. Be confident in your choice for Christ. Renew your vows if you need to.

Hebrews 10:35 Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.

1 John 3:21 And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God,

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

5. Be assured that once you have been drawn, and are confident in your choice for Christ, no one can condemn you or take salvation from you.

John 6:37 All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me].

Romans 8:1 THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

1 John 5:13 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life.
