Free from the Stronghold of Sorcery

Sorcery begins with thoughts of power and control. When we allow dark thoughts to remain we invite darkness. There is no getting around it or skirting the subject in any way. Sorcery is the practice of exercising supernatural powers through the aid of evil spirits. Sorcery is not power from God in any way. It does not control God or God’s people.

Sorcery comes from the dark side of the supernatural. That means that if you practice sorcery, you are calling on demonic spirits to help you gain control. Make no mistake, demons will not give you real control. The objective of a demon coincides with the master of all demons, Satan. Satan doesn’t want to bless or avenge you–he seeks to devour you. He knows how precious your life is. He wants it and he’ll lie to you and say whatever he can to get it.

Demonic strongholds are the settlements of demons. The area in your thoughts or in your life, that are controlled supernaturally by demons are given to them by you. They can’t take it without your permission. Demons cannot read our thoughts. But demons can hear our words.

In practicing sorcery, you give demons the right to use your body as a puppet. In other words, if you submit to demons by calling on demons, they will take power over you and eventually they will destroy you.

Demons can’t heal, they can’t bless, and they can’t give you love. In fact, summoning demons through sorcery can’t give you any good gifts. Only God can. This includes [but is not limited to] talent, insight, wisdom, perception, good health, revelational knowledge, understanding, and everlasting life.

If you thought sorcery was cool, and have submitted to it because you saw it in a movie distorted to look good, take your life back now.

5 Biblical tips to overcoming sorcery:

1. Resist the devil and repent of your sins [anything that takes or took you away from God] and submit to God.  The authority and power is in Christ Jesus who gives you salvation and all good gifts.

James 4:6-8 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Matthew 28:18 Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

2. Change the way you think and act. Only then will you have authority and real power to do good.

Acts 19:18-19 Many also of those who were now believers came making full confession and thoroughly exposing their [former deceptive and evil] practices.19And many of those who had practiced curious, magical arts collected their books and [throwing them, book after book, on the pile] burned them in the sight of everybody. When they counted the value of them, they found it amounted to 50,000 pieces of silver.

3. Take your life back. If you practice sorcery, demons will take whatever you give them, your mind, body, and life. By God’s grace you have been given power and authority over demonic spirits.

4. Don’t romance the dark side. It is not romantic and will never return your love.

Leviticus 19:31 “Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

Romans 12:9 (AMP) [Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.

Romans 12:9 (GW) Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good.

5. Make friends with fellow believers. It doesn’t matter what country you live in, there is someone in your area who knows the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray and ask God to lead them to you or you to them. How do you know them? By their fruits–the fruit of the HOLY spirit.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor, 18And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

Galatians 5:22-23 The fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,  23Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
