Free from the Stronghold of DOUBT

Doubt can kill a prayer and disable the believer. Doubt is a demonic stronghold that attempts to attack every believer. It’s a tactic the enemy uses alone or clumped with other strongholds. Worldly demons love to see doubt overcome a true believer.

The movie, Doubt, explains what happens when doubt attaches itself to a religious spirit.
Although not labeled a Christian movie, Doubt exemplifies what can  happen when doubt attaches itself to a religious spirit.

We know from scripture that if we doubt, our prayers will have no effect. A prayer without effect is worthless. No matter how much or how long we pray, if we have doubt, our prayer can not be answered. Doubt goes along with unforgiveness in crushing our prayers to God.

Doubt can creep into our lives in the form of gossip when we doubt a person or thing because of something we heard. It lacks faith. Doubt says, “maybe, if God is willing.” Faith says, “God will make a way where there seems to be no way.”

If you must doubt something, doubt that God won't answer your prayer.

If you must doubt something, doubt that God won't answer your prayer.

Biblical tips to overcome DOUBT:

1. Find out what God says about the situation you are praying over.

Jeremiah 33:3 “This is God’s Message, ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’

2. Ask God for the things you know he wants you to have.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you.

3. Don’t listen to negative people. They can ruin your dream of success and steal your closeness to God.

Proverbs 12:25 A person’s anxiety will weigh him down, but an encouraging word makes him joyful.

Proverbs 15:15 Every day is a terrible day for a miserable person, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.

Psalm 43:5 Why are you discouraged, my soul? Why are you so restless?
Put your hope in God,  because I will still praise him. He is my savior and my God.

Matthew 12:34 You poisonous snakes! How can you evil people say anything good? Your mouth says what comes from inside you.

4. Don’t participate in gossip. Gossip is wrong and creates doubt no matter how you look at it.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Don’t let anyone deceive you. Associating with bad people will ruin decent people.

5. Move forward in faith expecting God to answer.

Isaiah 3018 The Lord is waiting to be kind to you.  He rises to have compassion on you. The Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

Isaiah 40:31 Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the Lord will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won’t grow tired.

6. Trust God. God works in ways we cannot see. If you trust that God knows more than you and that he wants the best for you, doubt can take a back seat to faith.

Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan.
