God is not pleased when the stronghold of arrogance sets into a heart. In fact an arrogant heart is disgusting to the Lord. This is not to say that we don’t have a right to feel good about ourselves. When pride means arrogance it disregards others. It places itself in a superior position to everything else. Even God.
In fact, when arrogance sets in it no longer takes Godly advice. It no longer values life. It no longer sees anything above itself. It ridicules, manipulates, gossips, controls, destroys and kills. According to a Federal Government handbook, most criminals are fundamentally arrogant.
Arrogance says, “I’m better than you and I have a right to be treated better.” God says, “I favor the humble person.” God hates arrogance. So it’s logical that an arrogant person would reject God. The arrogant person who claims God doesn’t really care to know God — just to use God for personal gain.

Biblical tips to overcome arrogance:
1. Repent, turn from arrogance and get right with God.
Proverbs 1:23 “Turn to me when I warn you. I will generously pour out my spirit for you. I will make my words known to you.
2. Humble yourself before God. God loves when we go to him humbly in prayer.
Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?
3. Let your importance come from God. Get to know the difference between your importance to God and your desire for self importance. God loves you with an everlasting love.
1 Timothy 1:4 and occupying themselves with myths and endless genealogies. These myths and genealogies raise a lot of questions rather than promoting God’s plan, which centers in faith.
John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal life.
4. Resist the temptation to think of your self better than others. Resist thinking you deserve a thing. God gives us our blessings because of His grace.
Romans 12:3 Because of the kindness that God has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what God has given each of you as believers.
5. Trust God’s wisdom above your own. Follow Godly, biblical advice and wisdom — not the world’s advice.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth.
