Free from the Stronghold of Murder
Murder is the intentional, deliberate, [not in self defense] depriving of another human life. The stronghold of murder is increasing in our world today. It can be sanctioned by religion and/or distorted laws or by those who distort the law. Murder is performed with malice and intent–to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbarously. It is usually the result of extreme selfishness without consideration or compassion for the victim as a human being.
There is evil written all over this stronghold. It puts an end to a life God loves. Some of Hollywood promotes this stronghold today with movies and TV shows that sanction murder. Murdering anyone is wrong.
Abortion is another form of murder. It’s the malicious taking of another life and this time it’s an innocent life. Attached to this stronghold are numerous other demonic strongholds such as selfishness, ambition, hate, greed, lust, lies, vanity, poverty and many more.
- Choice is murder for a human life no matter how we sugar coat it.
Biblical tips to overcome the stronghold of murder:
1. Check your own thoughts. If you are thinking thoughts of murder toward anyone for any reason, repent, and ask God to give you forgiveness and peace. Change your focus.
Romans 8:6 The corrupt nature’s attitude leads to death. But the spiritual nature’s attitude leads to life and peace.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.
2. Don’t participate in gossip that sanctions murder.
Romans 1:28-29 And because they thought it was worthless to acknowledge God, God allowed their own immoral minds to control them. So they do these indecent things. 29Their lives are filled with of all kinds of sexual sins, wickedness, and greed. They are mean. They are filled with envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and viciousness. They are gossips,
3. Choose your friends wisely.
Proverbs 12:26 The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray.
4. Don’t participate in abortion. Don’t get an abortion unless your life is in danger. A fetus is still another human being — one that can not live on it’s own yet, but nevertheless it is a life that God created.
There are alternatives to abortion — many couples are willingly to give your child or your friend’s child a loving home. Many people are here to help you raise your child if that’s your preference. See help for pregnant women.
Psalm 139:13-16 You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother. 14I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this. 15My bones were not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, when I was being skillfully woven in an underground workshop. 16Your eyes saw me when I was only a fetus. Every day of my life was recorded in your book before one of them had taken place.
5. Avoid abusive situations. If you or someone you know is in danger, get help. Set boundaries. Say no to abuse. Seek safety until help arrives. Leave the situation before you allow rage to control you.
Psalms 141:4 Do not let me be persuaded to do anything evil or to become involved with wickedness, with people who are troublemakers. Do not let me taste their delicacies.
6. Recognize what true love is.
1 John 4:8 He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.
There are many variables included with the stronghold. We’ve only covered a few. Don’t confuse killing with murder. There are rare incidences when killing can save a life or nation from harm.
