Free from the Stronghold of Rebellion
Because they rebel against parents, teens and young adults are known for rebellious acts. But the first rebellion on earth was against God when Adam and Eve defied God’s command.

Today the stronghold of rebellion is initiated by other strongholds. Strongholds of envy, jealousy, rivalry, and selfish ambition. These demonic strongholds stalk our lives daily.
Rebellion walks hand in hand with defiance as it attempts to take leadership away from God’s appointed leaders and honor [glory, power, might] away from God. Rebellion against God carries severe consequences and separation from God which is [absolute] death.
All throughout history God’s people have rebelled. Many have been destroyed. Some have been forgiven after sincere repentance and torturous pain as a result of the consequences of their [sin] rebellion.
The Bible tells us that rebellion is the same as practicing witchcraft. 1 Samuel 15:23a For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim (household good luck images).
Today we learn rebellion from [other] adults, the media, and the world. Peer pressure instigates rebellion. The stronghold of rebellion causes conflict.
5 Biblical tips to overcome rebellion:
1. Don’t rebel [against God and godly people--leaders who are not corrupt] in your lives. NEVER rebel against God.
Hebrews 3:8 Do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness,
2. Encourage others. Get your encouragement [only] from godly people so you won’t fall victim to [unrighteous] rebellion.
Hebrews 3:12-14 Be careful, brothers and sisters, that none of you ever develop a wicked, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13Encourage each other every day while you have the opportunity. If you do this, none of you will be deceived by sin and become stubborn. 14After all, we will remain Christ’s partners only if we continue to hold on to our original confidence until the end.
3. Follow the [uncorrupt law of the land]. Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by His appearing at His coming.
4. Choose your friends and leaders carefully.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience.
5. Pray for your leaders. Teach others [wife, children, groups] to obey God’s commandments and follow the law of the land.
1 Timothy 2:1First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, 2for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us. Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way.
Jeremiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you will die, because you have uttered and taught rebellion against the Lord.
Here’s a young guy with the right attitude!
